Well, why? A very promising technology, but it needs to be developed. I use this technology in my work. I process the text translated into audio in plugins, it turns out very well.

You should be able to manipulate the synth engine parameters to make it sound less like singing and more like speech.

I would rather further development go into bug fixes, performance enhancements and new CbB enhancements (like MIDI editing functions, eg) rather than working on items that can be easily handled by third party plugins.

I have used most of the singing VSTs and have found SYNTH-V to be light-years ahead of all the others.   I have never tried just using it as just speech, but as Mark suggested (for Alter-Ego), it can probably be done.

Because that requires you to be a musician or have actual talent. DAWs are slowly being developed for the rest of the world who have a desire to create without needing to develop any skills. It will be interesting 20 years from now to see if this actually results in anything worth listening to ?

Just keep trying anyway - you never know. My voice improved over the years, not great but improved.

My guess - even a bad voice would be better than a synthetic one.

Did any of you consider "accessibility" and use by the hearing impaired? Not mentioned here, but should always be a consideration.

That is something that is now a commonplace requirement in a lot product design, but probably not in the music industry. Just a thought.

There are valid reasons to use a synthetic voice. I used plogue alter ego when I lost my voice due to a bad cold.  I've also used it for getting vocal ideas down when travelling...  recording vocals in an airport or on a train doesn't normally go down too well with the people around you!

Good afternoon! I see this issue has caused a discussion, I think that such projects as https://www.vocaloid.com/en   https://dreamtonics.com/en/synthesizerv allows you to turn the entered text into a real singing one. It will not take many years at all and we will hear about the appearance of such software products more and more often.
