Anders Madsen
I installed one more hard drive, and the old F: is now H: So I corrected letter/path in the plugin manager. (And prefs/folder locations) But it seems my old projects don't care about that, and the vst's fail to load from F: (Because they are not there anymore) I do not/can not change drive letters now. Is there an an easy/smart way to fix the issue?
tecknot
Hi Anders, I would go into the Windows Disk Manager and change the letter assignment of the old drive back to F. Then go back and "fix" the drive paths in the Plugin Manager. Kind regards, tecknot
bvideo
You can create a junction on your new F: that directs the system to find the files in the folder on H:.
Anders Madsen
A junction might be a solution. Still I do not understand why projects fail to load vst's; or what is the point of the global list in the plugin manager?
Kurre
Maybe a project saves file paths together with the plugins. Open a project and replace the plugin and "save as" probably would save the new path. Would delete the plugin patch but if you save the plugins patch first it should work, as you can load the patch back after replacement.
msmcleod
It's not only Cakewalk that may be saving references to paths. Many plugins internally save paths as well. You should use Windows Disk Manager to restore the old drive letters, and use new drive letters for the new drives.

I did not expect it to be that smooth. Finally I have Cakewalk on a NVMe SSD 2TB. This is comfortable.
