Red lines on midi from hi hat controller?

Hi,

My hi hat controller seems to be generating vertical lines when I record midi from my Alesis Crismon edrum kit, it didn't happen with the last kit I had.

Any ideas what might be causing it?

Those are MIDI controller events.

...and it looks like some hardware in your setup is sending those controllers, may be unintended? - 

Some faulty hardware can do that.

Hi-hat foot controller for e-drums do usually send  CC events to reflect the transitions between a closed and an open pedal.

If you don't want to see those red lines in Track View, you could convert them to an envelope so they are only visible in the Automation Lanes area.

Thanks all.

They are unintended, (the hi hat is closed throughout that section)  it may be faulty and I'll also have a play with sensitivity/curve settings etc to see if that helps
