I've used this drive.  It's slow for an SSD,  ime.

Was it being used as a USB 3.2 drive, or just a USB 2 drive, which would significantly affect it's throughput

Wow...read speeds of 800 Mb/s?  That's pretty slow for an SSD

Not sure I understand your question.  I hooked it up with the USB-C cable included directly into the mac.  

Compared to Samsung, Sandisk, Lacie...  it performed poorly, both as a media drive and even to copy large-ish files for backup.

Might be okay as a Time Machine backup.

I was wondering if was being attached to USB 2 port, which would seriously affect it's throughput.
that was until I read the specs....
