Sergio
Plugin Boutique's Virtual CZ for €26. Never saw it at such low price. It looks like a good (and cheap) alternative to the new Arturia's CZ-V. Also, this Esper 'Vangelis-esque' library looks nice for €4. You'll have to layer this sounds way in the background of your mix, though, otherwise the temptation to push the 'Next' button in the player will be almost irresistible for your audience. Been waiting for this day! I bought the Casio CZ-1000 new in 1984. It was my first synth! I had looked at the CZ-101, but didn't like the mini keys. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casio_CZ_synthesizers Have had the Virtual CZ in my PB wish list for ages, waiting for a price drop. Was beginning to think it would never go on sale! Now will probably get my CZ-1000 out of the closet this weekend and try out the CZ editor in Virtual CZ, as well as some of the virtual CZ-1 features that I could never afford back in the day! CZ-1000 was only 8 oscillators, but actually 4 voices if you doubled the oscillators. And programming it on the tiny LCD turned out to be a PITA! Plus it lacked a mod wheel and velocity sensitive keyboard. Now that I have full featured MIDI controllers, got that part covered! But my CZ came with a great set of printed manuals including an intro to synth programming. Learned about oscillators, waveforms, envelopes, LFOs, etc. with this thing. I've got the CZ-3000 and the CZ-1. They're now both in the loft, and since getting Virtual CZ a couple of years ago, they're probably gonna stay in the loft! Whilst I'm tempted to try out the sysx editor features of Virtual-CZ, there's actually no point. Virtual-CZ can sound just like the real thing (without the hiss), or you can beef it up with more layers. Now if only they'd do the same for the VZ-1.... 2
musical
I've got a CZ-5000 under a bed. Was a wonderful synth which would have sold in even greater numbers if it had had a Roland or Yamaha badge. I too will buy Virtual CZ which, for me, is the highlight of this sale.
ZincT
Hey abacab and msmcleod, I had a CZ-101 in the 80s (my first synth) with mini keys. Wish I hadn't sold it now as it would probably be worth something. I remember the manuals were excellent; it's a shame that they don't generally do in-depth printed manuals any more. I also seem to recall a detailed MIDI manual that came with it. ? I have Arturia V6 Collection but CZ V only comes with the V7 Collection which is expensive for three extra synths so I am all over this Virtual CZ deal. Thanks for posting Larry! abacab
Holy sh*t, this CZ has that punch and big beefy sound I remember! I recall having to be careful with the volume on my CZ-1000 because I was afraid it would rip the bass cones out of my speakers at full volume. Still the same beast!

I don't have it (yet) but Syntorial does look useful and there are also free add-on packs for a number of soft synths (e.g. Massive, Sylenth, Z3TA+ 2, Serum). I like the look of the feature where a sound is "hidden" and you have to try and re-create it.
