Michael Docy Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 Interesting video from 1982. At the end, they predict that audio will be contained on a silicon chip. 1
Grem Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 Did you see the finger prints all over them disc's!!!? And yep, I think I have some music on a silicon chip somewhere!!
Michael Docy Posted May 30, 2019 Author Posted May 30, 2019 (edited) Oops, I thought I was posting on the CH forum! Anyways, trivia question: what was the name of the midi controlled, rack mount, sampled bass player (rompler) that had interchangeable eprom chips that you plugged into a ZIF socket? I almost bought one back in the day... too expensive, though. I think it was between 3 to 4 hundred dollars in 1985 money. Edited May 30, 2019 by Mike Docy
Starship Krupa Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 I'm going to resist Googling this one....I remember the box you're talking about, think it was maybe made by Sequential Circuits? It's stuck in my memory with the Drumtrax and the SixTrak. Same era.
Grem Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 I was gonna say the Fairlight but that thing costed way more the three to four hundred!!
Jim Fogle Posted June 1, 2019 Posted June 1, 2019 Here is a 1985 local news broadcast from WSM-TV in Nashville, TN. The broadcast predicts by 1990 the CD will be the primary source of audio for the consumer.

So... after all this time, no guess correctly and @Mike Docy doesn't provide the answer either? Come.on now, what kind of trivia game is this? : ) 1
