Marc Slatter
Hello, first post on this forum, apologies if it's in the wrong place. I have a song in cakewalk that I have mixed in mono (I have to do this as I am deaf in one ear). It sounds fine and when I switch to stereo it still sounds fine. I export the audio and in stereo it sounds fine but if I switch to mono the vocal sounds really weird, like a phasey, chorusy effect on it. There is only one mono track of vocals in the song so it's not an issue with multiple tracks of vocals and phase issues. I have also reimported the track back into cakewalk and I get the same issue when switching the master bus to mono. I cannot recreate the issue on the original project before it's been exported. What on earth am I doing wrong?! Thank you!
Marc Slatter
OK... I exported just the vocal and it was fine, no issues in mono. Then I went back and exported the whole mix again and it now sounds fine! So odd. I wonder if this is a bug? Has anyone else experienced this? Marc Slatter
Managed to sort this out in the end. It appears that the issue came from having the 'FreeG' metering plugin on the master bus. No idea why that would cause that sort of issue but removing it has fixed things.
