auto cross fade

is there any way to turn auto crossfade off ? 
eg. I'd like to overlap the end of one audio clip overtop of the other without crossfade......eg. dwhen editing live drums.... I want the high hat to over lap a drum roll.....but unfortunately the crossfades are automatically happening.... any help would be great. I realize I could open up another track....and move on clip to another track....then it wouldn't crossfade automatically. but....when working with real drums, that's a real pain since there's a lot of tracks to move. thanks for any help in advance  John

In the Track view locate the OPTION TAB and remove Autofade. 

There will come a time when you're going to need it on surgical editing/comping when clips overlap each other, without having to drag the clip back.
