cracking noise when playing tracks in cakewalk

Hello, 

I'm new in cakewalk. I installed cakewalk on a Dell xps 15 9500, and played audio and MIDI recording in a track, it has crackling noise. I play the same file in Groove music, it still has the noise, and on another computer, it doesn't have noise. Youtube videos sound on this Dell computer is fine. I wonder if it is related to any settings in cakewalk or the system, and what should I adjust?

Can you please post your full PC specs

The first thin to try is fully patch your PC and update your hardware drivers (using manufacturer's websites rather than Windows updates)

Are you using ASIO driver mode? (This is recommended)

While onbaord audio is barely adequate, an external audio interface, that comes with dedicated ASIO drivers, will give best results.
