Larry Shelby
We are THRILLED to be working on a new plugin version of the RMI Harmonic Synthesizer! We normally keep new product development "under wraps" until we're ready to launch. But this is a very special project that involves a really cool collaboration with Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA (US). Sourcing Instruments To Model Every new plugin we create starts with the search to find a physical vintage instrument and sometimes repairing it to factory specs before we begin our modelling process. As you can imagine, some instruments are very difficult to find. The RMI Harmonic Synth is definitely one of those instruments! Enter Muhlenberg College We were THRILLED to come in contact with a representative from Muhlenberg College and learn that they had an RMI sitting in storage. AND, they offer classes on music and technology, covering synthesis and sound design. A Perfect Match After much discussion, Martinic and Muhlenberg College have reached a collaborative agreement which involves a loan of the instrument to Martinic for the purpose of restoring it and creating a fully functional software version using our ACE method of plugin development. Our lead, Martin Broerse has also begun participating in classes via video conference to share with students at Muhlenberg more about our process. https://www.martinic.com/en
