BassDaddy
Great read, Fleer. Thanks. Reminds me I saw Lee Michaels when I was a kid in a little KC Hall kind of place. It was just him and his drummer Frosty and they had 10 sun amps. two for the drums and 8 for the organ. Really loud and really good.. When I went to a dance in school watching the horn spin and stop on the Leslie during Gimme Some Lovin was a big part of me wanting to play music. My dad just laughed when I told my dad I wanted to play drums. When I said I wanted to play bass he just turned and walked away. So guitar was third choice. I dont think he wanted guitar. I just wore him out. Edited January 4, 2022 by BassDaddy

kitekrazy1
One mentioned in this article is the Telharmonium. Researching that is quite interesting.

bitflipper
Good to see a shout out to the mostly-forgotten champion of the Hammond organ, Rosa Rio. Then there's Ethel Smith, who was in a class by herself:
