Cakewalk crashes when MOTU Mach5 VI is loaded... options to recover the project?

Hello,

 

I created a simple project adding 4 instrument tracks and one of them uses MOTU Mach5 Virtual Instrument,
During the project editing everything was fine and Mach5 VI was able to play the assigned instrument, so then I saved the project and closed Cakewalk.

The next time I loaded the project, Cakewalk crashes exactly when it is loading Mach5 VI.
So, I have to questions:

1. how to report this to Cakewalk developers ?
2. how to recover the project so that, for example, it loads without a specific virtual instrument ?

2 - Search for "safe mode" in the (online) help.  Essentially. hold shift down when opening the project and you can choose which plugins to load/bypass.
