James Argo
Hi there! Welcome to Cakewalk Discussion forum. Can you be more detail explaining "cant connect" ? Does the TD-30 USB MIDI port appear on the Preferences? (Edit menu --> Preferences--> MIDI Devices --> Input) Have you selected the port in your SSD5 MIDI track? How about MID channel? Do you see incoming MIDI signal when you hit the drum pad?
57Gregy
Welcome. You'll probably need to download and install the USB driver from Roland's web site, too.
Stevie Shanks
Hi guys, I'm having a similar problem. I'm having real trouble as a relative beginner to midi etc. Tons of drumming experience. I have a Roland TD30 and have recently purchased the Steve Slate SSD5.5 plugin. I now have cakewalk to complete the picture from what I've read. I also have a midi (in & out) cable inserted into my TD30 and the USB into my laptop. This is where I'm stuck. I'm not overly interested in recording, rather I'd like to tap into the SSD5 sounds and trigger them with the Roland pads. I would really appreciate any help you guys could give. Many thanks Stevie
Bruno de Souza Lino
It's always a good practice to turn on your MIDI devices before starting Cakewalk. While some MIDI devices can be detected after the fact, that tends to only hold true for class compliant ones, which don't require a specific driver to work.
