balinas Posted May 17, 2019 Posted May 17, 2019 some reviews said they ran very hot! Not sure that might be worth saving $30. Pass this time! 1
Anxiousmofo Posted May 18, 2019 Posted May 18, 2019 I take reviews of SSDs quite seriously. If there are a lot of reported failures or comments about heat issues, I take that much more seriously than some yelp review. Heat is the enemy of computing.
Grem Posted May 18, 2019 Posted May 18, 2019 I will remind everyone, there are a lot more to SSD's than just capacity. How well it does it's trash collection routines in the firmware is very important. IOW, you have good performance in the beginning, but as the drive gets used, gets older, it will slow down to a crawl for some of the cheaper drives. You will end up with worse perfomance that a 5k rpm HD! And that's just one of the short cuts some of these cheap drives use. Now I don't know much about ADATA, but it might be a good idea to do some research before you purchase.
