Anyone familiar with Doepfer MCV4 MIDI/CV interface ?

I'm struggling at the moment getting a Roland SH-1 controlled via MIDI through this interface. 
It is particular the Gate function I don't seem to manage to get to work. Any tips ? 

I read in the manual that there are supposedly some dip switches that can be set, but have no idea where these are.

The power supply for the interface is also 7.5 V ... says 9 V on the input of the box ... wonder if this can be a factor.
