IainT
Some great recommendations in this thread. I don't think I have seen any vocal recommendations though. Any thoughts on good options ( involving Kontakt if necessary) for chamber choir type of music (so SATB arrangements ). Obviously there is the Eric Whitacre material from Spitfire, which probably sets the gold standard, but are there good free / nearly-free examples out there? The third is Full Kontakt so not for me (yet?) but sounds good in the demo

A high number are in Decent Sampler format (free), such as https://www.pianobook.co.uk/packs/winter-voices/ From there, start diving in.

Each one is just a one trick pony, but even the ones for sale, for around $6 USD, are cheap and some of them sound wonderful to my ears. I have every KLANG freebie and some of the paid ones too. I really like Cinematique Instruments. And they do have other formats besides KONTAKT. I believe some libraries are available as .wav files and for Ableton Live. For those unfamiliar with Klang, it's Cinematique's line of small sound design libraries. They give away a free library each my month. Check it out. bojanboyss
Worth recommending or not, see and decide yourself. Boyss-Sound-e-Scapes freebies: https://www.boyss-sound-e-scapes.com/free.html Mostly for Kontakt full (minimum v5.4.1 and up) or sfz player and most are also in wav too for any sampler. Also few midi packs. All on this page are free, if there is a price listed you will use the code provided there! Those itchy about email subscribing: you can unsubscribe anytime but if you stay on the list few perks might come through email in the future Edited December 6, 2021 by bojanboyss
