Larry Shelby
We are happy to announce a free update to Metric Halo Production Bundle Plug-ins for macOS. Release 3.2.4 of the Production Bundle is available for download now. https://mhsecure.com/metric_halo/support/downloads.html The big news for this release is that all of the plug-ins are now Universal Binaries on macOS and natively support both Intel and Apple Silicon architectures for the AU and VST plug-in standards. In addition, we have updated the licensing policy for our plug-ins to allow two activations per license. This allows you to activate a license onto two different license locations simultaneously, so you can license two machines, license one machine and an iLok, or simply keep an activation in reserve in case of emergency. All new licenses have two activations available. All existing licenses have also been updated to support two activations. This change applies for both macOS and Windows. If your existing license has already been activated to a machine or an iLok, you may not have an available activation in your iLok account. This issue can be resolved by deactivating the existing activation back to your account; once you have done this, the number of activations available should update to two - then you can re-activate the license onto your machine or iLok and you will have another activation available in your account. Change list: Add native support for Apple Silicon Fix UI resizing in some VST hosts Fix scroll wheel support for knobs/parameters in UIs Improve SpectraFoo displays in EQ UIs Improve EQ transfer function drawing performance Avoid crash on Apple Silicon processors Reduce CPU load on redraw by avoiding deep color matching Add support for multi-band selection and changes in ChannelStrip EQ These changes apply to all of the plug-ins in the Production Bundle as well as our free plug-in Thump: ChannelStrip MH ChannelStrip MH Character MH HaloVerb MH Dirty Delay MH Precision De-Esser MH Multiband Dynamics MH Multiband Expander MH TransientControl While we are now building our AAX plug-ins for Apple Silicon, Pro Tools itself does not yet support Apple Silicon natively, so these plug-ins are still only available for Intel Architecture. The AAX plug-ins have been tested under Rosetta2 on Apple Silicon, and can be used with Pro Tools running on M1 machines. When Avid releases an Apple Silicon version of Pro Tools we will push a new update that provides native support for AAX.
