But it’s true. If someone would ask me advice on starting out with mixing and mastering, I’d tell him to buy FabFilter’s Total Bundle and get on with it.

True. But I sort of like looking at old Neve and Pultec  GUIs.. it makes me feel like I am making records in the 70s and Jackson Browne is sitting next to me. All warm and fuzzy inside.. ?

I have come to realize that until I'm in the Big Leagues I don't need to buy Big League plugins. Pearls to the swine, as they say.

It's a good thing that nowadays even the plugins that come with your DAW are good enough for the basics and you can get really good plugins with a fraction of the cost of FF plugins.
