KING OF STRINGS is the first Octobass sample library for Ni Kontakt.

Featuring the sampling of the unique  custom made “Bohr-Moneta” Octobass.
At SoundFxWizard we've been enough lucky to meet maestro Nicola Moneta, he's one of the 3 Octobass players in the world!

The octobass is the larger and one of the most rare bowed string instrument.

Because of the extreme fingerboard length and string thickness, the musician plays it using a system of levers and pedals.

According to Berlioz, the three open strings were tuned C1, G1, and C2. This tuning gave it a low range one octave below the cello and equal to the modern double bass with low C extension.

The sampled instrument requires full version of Kontakt 5.8 or highter versions

It doesn’t work with Kontakt player free version.

The Instruments allows you to perform the Octobass with 4 articulation: Long, Short, Pizzicato and Col legno.

In addition to chromatic recordings you’ll find a SFX section for experimental sound design purpose, all articulations can be switched from GUI or directly with keys witches playing notes from C0 to G0.

The custom GUI gives you the access to the XY pad for microphones mixing, all samples were recorded by4 different microphones: a large diaphragm main condenser mic close to the body to get all the harmonics, a Shotgun mic , a contact microphone for the harshness of the wood and a custom made Subkick to capture the extremely low frequencies and rumbles.
