Andrew Levin
A crackling noise occurs when I am making sounds during a recording. It occurs with both voice and instrument. I'm using a Focusrite Scarlett Solo 3rd Gen into a Windows 10 PC. I've tried using other inputs, cords and using an alternate USB port. I've reinstalled the USB driver for the Scarlett, increased the buffers to 2048 but it has not solved the issue. I am using the WASAPI shared driver mode. I tried other driver modes but it made a consistent screaching noise as soon as I pressed record. The noise does not occur during silence (in a recording), only when I'm making sound. I played a previously recorded song and it played back fine. I used the Scarlett and recorded to my computers camera and it was good. I've also noticed a slight lag when recording additional tracks. Not sure what to try/test next.
tecknot
Hi Andrew and welcome to the Cakewalk forums. Be sure that your bit depth and sample rate is matching in CbB, Scarlett and Windows. Further, Focusrite drivers are ASIO, so that is the mode you should be using. Please get back to us if the noise continues. Kind regards, tecknot
