Keni Posted May 4, 2019 Posted May 4, 2019 I've just started paying attention to the numerical values related to LUFS and I'm wondering how realistic my current work is. I read that online systems tend to alter volume to attain a -14 LUFS. I have typically done very light amounts of compression etc. compared to most commercial material I hear yet I have a LUFS average near -12.... So spotify/youtube must be lowering my material 2db? Am I understanding this correctly?
Zargg Posted May 19, 2019 Posted May 19, 2019 Hi. This is my understanding as well. If you drag and drop an audio file into https://www.loudnesspenalty.com/ it will tell you how the different streaming services in/decreases the level of your mix. All the best.
