Ole
Is it true that support for CALs is going to be discontinued? If so, are the existing functionality that today can be reached as a CAL going to be built in?
1 Promidi
CAL scripts will still work in Cakewalk by Bandlab. However, if you are writing your own CAL scripts (which I have), there are some caveats you need to be aware of. Some commands behave differently (like EditPaste without parameters just pastes. Some even will categorically crash Cakewalk by Bandlab - Yes, Editslide and Editslide40, I'm looking at you) Also, you'll need an earlier version of Cakewalk (CPA9) to edit and test them properly. Remember these caveats and you can still write some mind blowingly useful scripts (especially when combined with Studioware panels - which I have done myself).

I will literally be lost without them (Same for Studioware Panels)
0 msmcleod
CAL was last supported in Cakewalk Pro Audio 9, and deprecated when SONAR 1 came out in 2002 ( not to be confused with SONAR X1 ). It's not discontinued, just no longer maintained. 1
