fadffy Posted September 10, 2021 Posted September 10, 2021 According to my Kaspersky Total Security 2021, 8dio website is infected by a trojan script right now. Beware if any of you are purchasing from 8dio now, wait until their developers fix the infection. Kaspersky warning message: Prevented downloading of a dangerous object Prevented downloading of a malicious file or other object designed to infect your computer with malware that will slow it down, break the system or lead to other problems. You were protected from downloading this object by Kaspersky security. You can close this window with no risk. antler Posted September 10, 2021 Posted September 10, 2021 Might be worth emailing support to let them know, along with any info that Kaspersky picked up.
husker Posted September 10, 2021 Posted September 10, 2021 (edited) This is the same company that forgot to renew their SSL certificate a few months ago. EDIT: And now the site is down... (Is 8DIO.com the new JRR Shop?) Edited September 10, 2021 by husker 4
msmcleod Posted September 11, 2021 Posted September 11, 2021 Seems to be back up with a new SSL cert. 3
Mánibranðr Studios Posted September 12, 2021 Posted September 12, 2021 Is everything good with the website now?
RobertWS Posted September 12, 2021 Posted September 12, 2021 Just make sure you are wearing your mask before you visit it. 2

bitflipper Posted September 13, 2021 Posted September 13, 2021 Pretty sure that was a false-positive from Kaspersky. Not the first time a software installer has been flagged for that same supposed trojan. [EDIT: I was wrong about that. See Matthew's post below]
Matthew Sorrels Posted September 13, 2021 Posted September 13, 2021 No it wasn't a false positive. They were really infected. Something had injected some code into their menu system loading something from a corrupt Wordpress site. This wasn't the software/downloads but rather the website itself. 1
