It's been a while since I have posted on this forum, but I think I am about to and 1 to your count. I already use Kontact 6, mainly for orchestral and vocal kind of stuff. Sample Tank 4 SE might give some interesting extra options. Any advice out there on whether it is worth it ( being fully aware of the bias that might be present by positing on this very long tread that has a vested interest in more people signing up to the offer !!)

this is just my personal opinion - and others may disagree - but ST4 (SE)  isn't anywhere near as good as Kontakt 6.    I could list some of the reasons but that would get boring :)

You don't say what version of Kontakt you have have or if you have any expansions ?

The excitement over this deal is more about the great value for money (IMO)  - some of the t-racks stuff and AT5 are first rate

The thing is Sampletank is nice to have especially if you get Sampletank 4 Max.   Nice thing about IK-multimedia is the crossgrade discount pricing once you are a customer and right now is the time to join as you are getting a fantastic deal.   Since it most likely will make it up to the 25 for 1 spend a little extra on a top price item so you don't limit yourself.

Now I must scold you for not joining us on the CbB Forum.  More the merrier.  We shall be watching you ;)  So you better start posting!  Halloween is coming up and you don't want to get Egged do you :D

Maybe you want to look at this one too?  *

I have Philharmonik 2 CE and Philharmonik 2.  If you have Kontakt libraries you could pick up the CE version as a freebie for variety.    The new

SampleTank Instruments Cinekinetik I think is fantastic.  YMMV.  There is so much to pick from if you are a new customer.

I agree, these were a very pleasant surprise, by far the best Sampletank content IMHO. I like Shipwreck Piano in particular but its all unique and good.

I am really not sure what to get for any further products. More EQs?  Possibly the Imperial Grand? I don't have much interest in the loop based stuff.

Kontakt libs -- in my experience -- are more CPU friendly, less likely to crash your DAW, offer a wider sound palette, and just sound better (at least to my ears).

Exactly!

I use Kontakt5 and ST4 (full edition), having using both through earlier versions. One nice thing about ST4 is you can use it to play all the Syntronik synth modules if you're so inclined or need to use up your freebies. I used one of my the 25th Anniv Buys to stock up on most of the ST4 sample packs, with the intention of playing with them over the next several months to find useful ones.

IKM just added 30 jampoints to my account out of the blue... jezuz chryst people, this is starting to feel like socialism!

... and I love it!

Perhaps you just selected SampleTron 2 as a freebie? That came with 30 free jampoints for me.

My choice was ARC software only.

Now I need a suitable microphone.

Anyone else than me that chose a freebie that you already had as an accident?

Not by accident but ran out of things to pick that I don’t own.  Some of us are dubbling up on this so maybe someday sell the non NFR plug-in.  Although resale might not be great.

I got SampleTron about 6 weeks ago and the points today. The points say "IK Gift Points." I think they're just in recognition of my good looks.

EDIT: maybe they realized some of us didn't get points from sampletron?

Just another FYI to check the Specs/requirements when selecting products during this 25th GB. MODO Drums needs support for AVX instructions.

I was too anxious to use some of my  40 group buy freebies and didn't check the Specs tab for MODO Drums until I tried to install it and got the error messages that my computer (AMD 6-core I5 w WIN10-64) doesn't support AVX instructions. So, stuck with one product that will have to sit on the shelf until I'm able to upgrade computers.  Also check specs for minimum RAM if you have less than 16Gb.
