willard cottrell
Hi friends, I occasionally use midi files that contain meta data. (not that I understand that stuff). I believe that controller 91 and 93 are not present w/in the GPO data, but they are available in the PRV view. Do those have any effect - ie do they negatively effect GPO or the FXs send like reverb or chorus in CbB. Can they be eliminated from the midi file? Thanks
James Argo
If the synth wasn't designed to understand CC91 and CC93, then it will ignore the data. It has no effect to the sound. If you want to make sure, then you can delete all those CC data in the MIDI track and re-save the MIDI file.
John Vere
If the Midi file was composed to play on a GM VST or MS Wavetable then those will control those parameters. But most VST's are not GM so they ignore the Effects CC. When I download a GM file I immediately go into event list and delete most of the controllers. I don't want the data telling my VST what to do. Even pitch bend can be all wrong.
