Matt Phillips Posted July 28, 2021 Posted July 28, 2021 I am trying to record external hardware, mainly drum machines and synths. Is there a way to arm a track and have it automatically start recording when it detects an input and then stop when it doesn't detect anything?
0 John Vere Posted July 28, 2021 Posted July 28, 2021 (edited) No. But if you’re working with drum machines you should use midi sync. You can set most drum machines and external sequencers to start and stop when you hit play or record in your DAW. This way Cakewalks tempo drives the hardware devices and when you record either the midi or the audio output from them it will be in sync. Edited July 28, 2021 by John Vere
