Butch Moon
I get as far as the option of where I would like to put the folder for VST instruments. it suggests d: drive... which doesn't exist on the computer I am attempting to install Cakewalk on... The computer has a C: drive only. I cannot change where I would like to put this folder no matter what I do. It's greyed out and cannot be interacted with... therefore I cannot get beyond this stage, thus cannot install Cakewalk. Any suggestions? I've tried erasing and redownloading the assistant, I've tried installing as an administrator. Is it a requirement of Cakewalk to install VSTs on a separate drive? if so I will give up because there is only one drive on this computer. Thankyou for your time. Lord Tim
No, usually the default is to the same drive (usually the system drive) that Cakewalk is installed to. The only time this gets set is if a prior installation has chosen that path. Very weird! What I'd recommend is doing a clean install by following the instructions here: https://help.cakewalk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360034066393-Clean-Install-Cakewalk-by-BandLab Then doing a fresh installation. That should solve the problem.
