They have some pretty tough competition below that price point right now in the market place.

They have this free version also, which I tried out for a little bit a while ago

It didn't match up all that well to my reference amp plugins from PA / Brainworx.

 

But do appreciate developers that put free options out there.

Hey, for a freebie, that's not bad at all! The EQ / Tone section is what I like the least, I find it heavy-handed and I couldn't get it to be transparent/neutral no matter what I tried. 

They need to make it possible to demo the pro version (duh). And yeah, think hard about that price.
