Cakewalk Does Not See Korg NanoKontroller2

Question

Posted

I recently purchased a Korg Nanokontroller2. I followed all the steps to installation as I understood them: I installed what I believe to be the latest driver (2/21); I simultaneously pressed the set and record buttons while powering it up, which I understand puts in "Sonar" mode. (The record light blinks.) I have only a midi keyboard connected to my computer. ( A Dell Inspiron 3880, Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-10400 CPU @ 2.90GHz, 12 GB RAM)  When I  open Cakewalk, the NanoKontroller2 is not listed in Midi Devices or Control Surfaces. I tried reinstalling the software. All to no avail.  It does appear as a device in Control Panel. Any help would be appreciated.

What MIDI driver mode are you using in Preferences -> MIDI -> Playback and Recording ?

If it's set to UWP, try setting it to MME.

You'll need to make sure you close all projects to switch MIDI driver mode.

I should point out that I use a Tascam US 144-mk II interface for MIDI input.

And the Nanokontroller is plugged into that? You won't see the Nanokontroller, only the TASCAM.

Yes. I’m sorry that wasn’t clear. I was just trying to make the point that Cakewalk was seeing MIDI input through that device. Thank you for your reply.
