Jesse Screed Posted May 22, 2021 Posted May 22, 2021 https://www.soundclick.com/music/songInfo.cfm?songID=14252743 I would be interested to know if this mix is there But yes, she finally decided to play base 1
Bajan Blue Posted May 22, 2021 Posted May 22, 2021 that's some seriously experimental bass in there my friend. i think the bass could do with a bit of heavy compression to stop it jumping out of the mix, otherwise all cool Nigel

She will be so very very happy to hear that Nigel. When we jam we never know what is going to happen.

Lynn Wilson Posted May 23, 2021 Posted May 23, 2021 I like your ears, Jesse! I'd like to go down this path, too. Stay tuned.
Wookiee Posted May 23, 2021 Posted May 23, 2021 As always you takes on a path less trodden, which is always a good thing keep this experimental stuff comping Jesse it is surprisingly very inspirational.
bjornpdx Posted May 23, 2021 Posted May 23, 2021 Jesse, Yeah, the bass could use some volume adjustment to make it more even (exactly how a real sound engineer would put it). Seemed like the bass player was maybe unsure of herself. -Bjorn
Douglas Kirby Posted May 24, 2021 Posted May 24, 2021 Yeah, I thought the bass was jumping out a bit from the rest of the instruments in the mix, but that might be what you were going for. Adding the bass did make it a bit jazzy - interesting.
Kevin Walsh Posted May 27, 2021 Posted May 27, 2021 I gave this a listen last night on my phone's little dinky speakers. I think that if a mix sounds decent that way, it will sound great on phones or speaker. And this sounded good on the phone. I could hear everything. Yeah, you're right, the bass is too forward but at least it's tone is really good. I just gave it another listen on the ol' Slate VSX phones with the plugin active and set to Archon room, mid fields and it sounds pretty good. Get that bass mixed in right and it will sound a lot better. I'd love to hear more of the guitar. I like it's tone quite a bit. I'm curious, what do you guys intend to do with the product of these jams? Inquiring minds wonder. Are you going to do more development with Blood Bath 535? I liked that one quite a bit.
Johnbee58 Posted May 28, 2021 Posted May 28, 2021 (edited) Sounds like a great start but could use a bit more development. But you're probably already working on that. Unlike some of the others above, I think the bass is OK as is. ? John B Edited May 28, 2021 by Johnbee58
MichaelJohn Posted May 30, 2021 Posted May 30, 2021 Well it sounds like the bass is playing a different song, or in a different key, but I like stuff like this! It's uniquely satisfying.
