Record and Playback levels differ

I've seen a lot of frustrated users trying to explain that you have to set up gain with your audio card and not in Sonar. Lately I have a new problem. My guitar inputs levels read -7dB as I record. When I play back I only get -70dB. Can anyone explain this to me. Never had this problem before.

Do you still have the track in record standby?

Weird, but now I'm getting -7 record level but -13 playback. No record isn't enabled during playback.. It's hotter now but there's still a discrepancy. Thanks

Do you have a -6dB Center Pan Law set? It's under Preferences > Driver Settings > Pan law, but is actually a per-project setting..
