I picked it up too.  Only had 10 mins to play with it.  I like it.  Sounds great.  Comes with some MIDI but clearly needs a lot more.

Maybe it's their programming and examples to show the most radical thing you can do with a fretless vs a fretted bass.

Smarter minds may be able to describe it better. ?
