I ordered a Rode NT1A and it should get here in a few days.

Should I have ordered an NT1 instead?

I know there are several people here who use Rode mics.

My Avantone CV 12 that I've been using since 2015 doesn't seem to give me what I want and I'm thinking of selling it.  I have an old (cheap) Apex condenser that I recently dug up that sounds better and I'm hoping the Rode will finally be the mic that "loves my voice".

Hi John,

I have 4 rode mics. Original NT2 from 1997. An NT2a, and now the NT55 pencil condensers. Love them all, highly recommend any Rode, great Aussie company, and the chap that owns Rode has been around music all his life, and his Dad.

Thanks for the feedback,  guys.  I'm sending the Rode back because it's no better than the Apex 435 I already have.  I thought I'd try it mostly because Sweetwater ironically allows a 30 day refund on mics.  I find that odd, especially given the current situation, but they do.
