pipelineaudio
Is it possible to install cakewalk without it changing the Windows Registry and changing where third party vst plugin installers will default to? I'd like to keep it set to my current location

I'd like to keep it set to my current location When ever I install Cakewalk, it does not offer to change the location. I think on a fresh install and you do a custom install, I think it asks you for your VST location. The location field should initially contain your default location. It's been years since I have done a fresh install, so don't quote me on that.
0 pipelineaudio
Alright, I just did a live video so nobody could accuse me of fudging it and found a few things. So yes, it happens, it corrupts your registry for all future plugins. BUT The answer was not to deny that it happens, but instead one of two things: 1) that the installer (now?) gives you a chance to choose the VST default install path Or 2 2) Go to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\VST in the registry editor and change it back This video shows it all...its long, but that is in the interest of transparency.
