I'm looking for a particular sound.

A 60/70s flute sound

Think of Serge Gainbourg Melody Nelson era.

Anyone know of a 'reasonably priced' kontakt instrument?

Much appreciated.

I like the Stefania Maratti flute from Fluffy Audio, and there's a sale on at Fluffy now.   Really nice sound and easy to play.  They also have a flute freebie.

If you're looking for a jazz/rock flute, then  Orange Tree Samples' Passion Flute is designed to be that.

Wasn’t familiar with your original reference so had to look it up.  My palette is probably too sophisticated for this forum. I see you meant in the style of the greatest flutist of recent times - Ron Burgundy :)

I don’t know this person but randomly ran into this ad.  Seems they have OTS passion flute at 50% off (private sale).  It’s been a couple of months since it was posted. Assuming it’s still for sale, make sure it’s legit.

I read that their (soprano) Flute got updated recently.

I haven't tried it yet.  Middle  C a up to an octave sounds like an oboe.   There was a recent discussion on Vi Control on the sound.  This was actually pointed out over 10 years ago.
