Exported file sounds different than in Cakewalk

Hello friendly peoples,

my problem is following: i have created a project with 3 midi tracks and mixed them. It sounds fine so far. When I export to a wave file, it sounds crappy. I read about this problem for the last 5 hours, but couldn´t find a solution. I´m pretty sure the problem lies within cakewalk, because i tried "audible bounce" while exporting, and it sounded as crappy as the exported file. I don´t now, what I´m doing wrong. I tried exporting the hardware output and the master bus signal and I tried different bit and sample rates, but it doesn´t affect that drastic quality loss while exporting.

I hope someone can help before I´m going completely mad. Thanks!

More information is needed in order to help with this endlessly-asked question. I've had issues with it myself.

System specifications? What audio device are you using? Latency settings? WASAPI? Shared? Exclusive?

Define "crappy." Distorted, thin, treble-y bassy, muffled, shrill, crackly?

I also had same problem, I just exported sound and copied into my phone and it sounds same as cakewalk.

Give it a try.
