The ashtray is just so cool

I love playing my friend's Tele with the ashtray and none of my guitars have something close. It's so cool having an impediment to string damping. It makes you play differently.

I can rest my hand on the silver bar on my Gibson, but it's too far back. It's not the same.

Just for the ashtray, one day I'm going to have to own a tele. Until then, I keep "forgetting" my guitar when I go jam at my friend's place.

I agree.

I used to have a Fender P Bass and I left the ash tray and the pickup cover on. Like this one:

I think they look better that way.
