Question

Hi all,

I am relatively new to Cakewalk and have a basic question about changing a project's tempo. If I decide to change the project's tempo to something other than the 120 bpm, I have found that even if I insert a new tempo value at the top of the tool bar or select "insert tempo change" at the first measure, inevitably I will find that in various measures in my project I still have the old tempo. Any ideas why this might happen? I am using all MIDI tracks, not audio. I have tried "select all" and entered a new tempo, but the new tempo isn't uniformly applied through every measure.

I am sure I am doing something wrong here, but it seems like if change the tempo value, that tempo should prevail throughout the entire project.

Thank you.

It could be because there are tempo changes in various parts in your MIDI project.

What you need to do is open the tempo view to see if there are arbitrary tempo change in there.

To open the tempo view, press ALT+T
