pax-eterna
Just tried exporting a WAV (and an MP3 to test as well) and these appear to be valid files, but no other player - Groove, WMP, iTunes, Audacity - will play them? They load in ok but simply do not play. Fresh install from Bandlab of Sonar too, btw. Any ideas? Edited March 11, 2021 by pax-eterna
reginaldStjohn
Do you still have cakewalk open when you are trying to play them? Do they seem to play but not make any sound? It could be that you are trying to play them while Cakewalk still has the driver and won't share it. What driver model are you using?
pax-eterna
thanks. Nah this is outside Sonar -BUT I had forgotten about the exclusive control setting so I'll turn that off and see. Sometimes Sonar CAN be guilty of hogginh drivers even when it has been closed.
John Vere
Audacity is the best place to proof because it will play any audio file. When you open them in Audacity is there a visible wave form ? Do the VU meters move? If there is no wave form then something was wrong with your export. If there is then something is is wrong with your playback system as above. razor7music
Also, if you export wav files with really high resolution, like 24/96, your player software may not have the codecs to play that high resolution file.
John Vere
Audacity supports all formats I do believe.
pax-eterna
thanks yes I have audacity and it did not play there. The issue was the system audio ...just changed this and then changed the audio driver in Audacity (it did it automatically in WMP) and all good!
