Sonar Platinum and Yamaha Genos

HI there, I installed CW Sonar Platinum on my laptop and tried connecting it to my Genos via USA cable. I've already installed the Yamaha USB Midi driver and Genos instrument file. When I connect CW to my Genos, the Genos becomes unresponsive. When I press keys... nada. No sound, nothing. Same with all other controls. I'm stumped. Any ideas what is causing this? Thanks.

Sounds like you've maybe got a MIDI feedback loop.

There's normally two ways around this:

1. Set "local control" to off on your Genos :  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BFu_Ac5213I .. or
2. Turn off "Always Echo Current MIDI Track" within Preferences->MIDI->Playback and Recording

Unless you're only using your Genos (i.e. you never use any software synths), option 1 is the preferred option though, as you don't want to disable MIDI echo for everything.
