Nigel Mackay
Those of you who are comfortable doing it, switch off anti-virus while you are doing it. Windows spends an enormous amount of time scanning each sample to see if it is a threat.
msmcleod
I just exclude my sample directories within the anti-virus.... along with all my plugin directories & cakewalk project directories.
bitflipper
I not only exclude my entire samples drive but any file ending in *.wav or *.flac. There's just no way to embed malware in a wave file. OK, on second thought there might be. A wav file could be a carrier for a rootkit. Most antivirus programs don't check for rootkits, though. And anyway, the rootkit would only be activated if you clicked on the wave file, not if you loaded it into a sample-player.
