import multi channel WAV gets memory error

This has worked a couple months ago and now this seems broken with the latest update.  

I have a multichannel wave file from an X32 recording session - when trying to import into cakewalk with the latest update, I get an out of memory error.  The 16 track file successfully imports in Sound Forge without issue. I used to be able to import these files into cakewalk a couple months ago but now it fails.

Is there a setting or something that has changed that will allow me to import these files once more into cakewalk?

I appreciate any help or thoughts of things to try.

so, it may indeed be a memory error, but it is really a sample rate error. This could be better caught and explained imo.

 

Changed the project sample and bit rates and the WAV file imported without issue. I hope this helps someone.
