David May
Hi all. Firstly Happy New Year to you all, let's hope things recover a bit this year. Anyway, when I got Cakewalk by Bandlab (as an upgrade from Sonar XL) it came with wobble 2. All installed and working fine. BUT, just got the Sonivox Film Score companion which has five products in it Orchestral Brass/Woodwind/Brass, Big Bang composer and Eighty Eight ensemble. Absolutely NO installation instructions so downloaded the zip files, extracted them and run the exe file. So far so good seems to have installed ok and tried the authorisation shortcuts for each, again ok and licenses show up as authorised in iLok. BUT, although the installation folders and vst folders show up in Cakewalk plug in manager after doing a scan NONE of them appear in the instrument section and on top of that Wobble 2 (which was working) has now stopped. Tried getting support from where I bought it and all I got was a reset on the license key, but it still doesn't work. So, with the wealth of user knowledge on these forums I thought maybe someone here might be able to help me get the flaming thing working. Thanks in advance David
Starship Krupa
You will get better help in the Instruments and Effects forum. The first thing I would do is open Cakewalk Plug-In Manager and check to see if they have been excluded, and if so, enable them. I have multiple SONIVOX instruments myself, and they work fine in Cakewalk.
Reid Rosefelt
I recommended some SONiVOX singles in my Tiger the Frog Black Friday post and one guy had trouble installing them. He came up with a workaround. You can find him somewhere in this thread: https://vi-control.net/community/threads/tiger-the-frogs-alphabetical-list-of-november-2020-sales.100595/ There are issues with SONiVOX and AIR in that they are unlikely to be updated or fixed as computer OS's change. I recommend people download demos of SONiVOX instruments from their website or Plugin Boutique to check them out before purchase. But I think there is a way to solve this and you should be okay. David May
Hi all Just as a follow up. Firstly thanks for the responses. In the end I fixed it like this. Uninstall all sonivox packages (which should IMHO clear out all related registry entries but doesn't) Backup my registry (just in case) Searched registry for any entries for Sonivox and the names of any of the products I was having trouble with. Deleted all those registry entries. rebooted machine. reran all the installers. rescanned plug ins in cakewalk. hey presto all working. So BIG faff just because they can't write an installer properly and can't be bothered to give any support. This has put me off using Sonivox in the future. Especially when you can get so much stuff from places such as Spitfire audio that just work and are free. So thanks again and have a good Easter everybody. All the best David
