JoeGBradford Posted January 7, 2021 Posted January 7, 2021 Looks like OT are following in the footsteps of Spitfire - should be some good stuff in there - kicking off late January 3 2
antler Posted January 7, 2021 Posted January 7, 2021 This looks like OT's version of ProjectSAM's The Free Orchestra 2
JoeGBradford Posted January 7, 2021 Author Posted January 7, 2021 Isn't PS Free Orchestra a one off whilst this seems more like Labs - intermittent releases of individual instruments? 1
antler Posted January 7, 2021 Posted January 7, 2021 Now that I think about it, yes - your right: Free Orchestra was a one-off finite set. I had read the video description Quote In 2021, we’ll start a subscription service. But not a regular subscription service: Sign up to SINEfactory and you’ll get a steady stream of exclusive free instruments delivered straight to your mailbox. These instruments provide a solid foundation for sketching ideas and building tracks—they’re effectively a curated factory library for SINE. Kick-off is late January! and assumed each instalment was a patch from one of their libraries. 2

It is now. It started off much like Labs (early Labs were Kontakt) or the Klang series., with new instruments added periodically They consolidated into one bank recently (like a year or so ago). 1
JoeGBradford Posted January 7, 2021 Author Posted January 7, 2021 Ah thanks I didn't know that as I downloaded as one bundle 1
Reid Rosefelt Posted January 7, 2021 Posted January 7, 2021 By the way, they talked about this in their recent OT special event video. 1
Bruno de Souza Lino Posted January 8, 2021 Posted January 8, 2021 They did a sort of free string library before Spitfire did their BBC Discovery product. Let's hope that it is more stable. I remember being unable to use the string library, as the plugin would crash and take the DAW with it second after being opened. 1

JoeGBradford Posted January 8, 2021 Author Posted January 8, 2021 I have their free Layers orchestral instrument and haven't had any problems with that 1
Bruno de Souza Lino Posted January 10, 2021 Posted January 10, 2021 It would be a really tough sale, especially considering how small BBC SO Discovery is, proving that you don't need hundreds of GB in file size to make a convincing sounding orchestral plugin. 1
