Playback audio issue

I just got my focusrite Scarlett audio interface, and a marantz mic.. I went through all the work of enabling and disabling things in order to record the audio, but when I went to play it back, it was crackly. The audio is only crackly when I play it back and the interface is plugged in. I've tried multiple usb cords, and don't believe it's the mic or the XLR. I'm not sure what the issue could be, or how to reserve it

What driver mode are you using.  For the Focusrite Scarlett you would want to use ASIO as the driver mode in Cakewalk.

Also, make sure you're using the latest Focusrite Scarlet drivers.
