This is just a comment. I have been using REAPER for almost as long as it has been out. Sonar was just too expensive for me every year when I'm just a hobbiest. But recently I had to go back and re-master some old CDs I had produced in the 1999-2004 era. I found out that Cakewalk is now free. I almost fainted. I like REAPER (it is so simple), but I miss some of my old workflow in Cakewalk. I'm not going to pay big money for the two projects I MIGHT do in a year, but this year we put out another CD (just for friends and family) and as I said I had to re-master some old stuff in old CWB files. I was blown away by how nice this free version is. I'd take it over most paid stuff. Well done, BandLab. I hope you keep it free / open source. Really, really well done. I've only hit a few snags and worked around them with the help of this awesome forum. I'm so very happy to be back. Now I just need a new project to do fully in Cakewalk by BandLab. :)
