Marc Cormier Posted March 14, 2019 Posted March 14, 2019 (edited) Hopefully the "redesigned" UI addresses some of the sluggishness. Not sure I'm ready to dive into this but it looks interesting. Got a good deal on the Pro package around the holidays so just maybe... https://www.positivegrid.com/bias-fx2-preorder/ Edited March 14, 2019 by Marc Cormier
Magic Russ Posted March 14, 2019 Posted March 14, 2019 (edited) For those who have FX Pro, it is a $99 upgrade to FX Pro 2 and $199 to get the Elite package. Edited March 14, 2019 by Magic Russ
RSMcGuitar Posted March 15, 2019 Posted March 15, 2019 Pretty steep upgrade price considering I've only had FX Pro for a few months
Marc Cormier Posted March 15, 2019 Author Posted March 15, 2019 I feel the same way - just bought in December. What I really wanted for Christmas was Scuffham 3.0 with just a couple more amps, some pedals, and an updated UI. Call me done at that point.
Marc Cormier Posted March 15, 2019 Author Posted March 15, 2019 (edited) Been waiting for some time now. Based on the S-Gear forum comments, it could be in a couple of months I suppose. ? Edited March 15, 2019 by Marc Cormier
Piotr Posted March 17, 2019 Posted March 17, 2019 Just FYI (excerpt from PG FAQ): 10. BIAS FX 2 Windows 7 compatibility? BIAS FX 2 requires Windows 10 to work with, Please see the System Requirements of BIAS FX 2
Marc Cormier Posted March 17, 2019 Author Posted March 17, 2019 Good eyes, Piotr! Thanks for this heads-up. BFD3 is also stopping support for Windows 7 in future updates, so at some point this may be a reason to update.
Soundwise Posted March 21, 2019 Posted March 21, 2019 Just demoed it. Certainly not as sluggish as other PG products, slick UI, not scalable, but usable. Sounds better than previous versions, but (still) has severe aliasing, audible with high gain settings on high pitched notes. Doesn't perform as good as competing ampsims, which all work fine at 96kHz/16samples on my Scarlett 6i6 1st gen. FX2 works as expected only at 44.1kHz/16 samples. At other sample rates it becomes a ring modulator or requires higher buffer settings. Still feels like the initial attack is processed by an SSL type compressor and then fed into all other modules. Definitely wrong approach! Guitar match is an interesting feature, but considering the price point, I'll stick with Peavey ReValver with similar functionality, better audio quality and clever pricing. 1 2

Thks for that precise and educated feedback ... , may i ask you if you had to keep one amp sim , witch one would it be ?
Soundwise Posted March 25, 2019 Posted March 25, 2019 You are welcome, Zo! 4 hours ago, Zo said: if you had to keep one amp sim , witch one would it be ? Frankly, one can make great records with any amp sim. They are all good. But to me the only one that sounds and feels like the real deal and stands out of the crowd is... right, ReValver.
