Can I share my GAS spreadsheet? I keep a little spread sheet of all the effects and synths i have and I check it before I buy new stuff. Just to make sure I really need it.

For instance, before I buy another compressor or eq, I check the spread sheet and notice, "hey,  i have all this on my Komplete colleciton. I never use it. i should take a look at it .." and then I remember that I am an idiot for not ever using it  and hold off on buying.

Don't forget delays.  That's one thing I don't expect to buy any more of anytime soon.

For those using Cubase - you can also fire up your new Cubase 11,  go to VST Plug-in Manager and click the Plug-in Report button. It was added in Cubase 10.5.

Great words of wisdom. I've already aborted some potential purchases and redirected towards a few others.

Also, don't forget to factor in drive space to the cost.

This is a really good point specially if buying any loop bundles from ADSR/Black Octopus/etc.  Once I downloaded I realized they took up 10/20Gb each and ate up tons of SSD space.  So this year I’m staying away from those.

It's like the ultimate game of cyber-chicken.  I'm trying to steel my nerve while keeping my CC nimble.   And the toughest part is the deals just keep coming.

Great advice ,from great minds.  I also try to remember every time I think about buying  a new plugin , it's usually going to take time to learn it.

Just some notes from "experience"...

Don't "Jump" right away....sometimes the best deals come
AFTER the initial "Black Friday" offers...as it get's closer to
Black Friday, and especially because it takes a few to
compare "all the vendors prices" to get them posted!  I'll
usually post the FIRST one I see, and then go back and adjust
if I find lower prices somewhere else!

Some even come in AFTER the Black Friday
sales because "they already roped those customers, and now
they're after MORE!  And some of the best deals come between
Black Friday and New Years...so you just never really know!

Budget wisely!  Don't buy "just because it's cheap"!  Plan
on things that you really "need" and not "want" ( OK...a few wants maybe,
preferably AFTER the MAIN "needs" have been met)

Patience in this game is a virtue, but sometimes he who hesitates
is lost..so keep these adages in mind...if it's "not suppose to be that price"
JUMP immediately, and let it shake out.  They'll either fulfill the order,
or refund your money.  You're only out time...so it's worth it...

Black Friday is OVERWHELMING...so PREPARE a week or more BEFOREHAND!
Get yourself "mentally and financially (ha) prepared"! Make a list of "needs" and then "wants"
and then wait until the offers come in!  It's also helpful to "save throughout the year" for
Black Friday so you ARE financially prepared, and not living in "regret"!

Just some thoughts that I thought I would share...and feel free to
add your own to the list!

Exellent i will add :

PREPARE projects and time to test plugins , projects that can exhibit strength of any processor (time based , dynamic , freq , combos ,) and instruments based projects ...

TESTING will be anyway benefical in reminding you what you have and its sonic prints (plugins you already have)

ANALYSE What's really missing in your arsenal , something that you missed to have servral time (in my case , delays this year and guitar plugin)

CHILL AROUND HERE and have fun because we share a lot of information , and sometime giving adivses even answers your own questions (i'mexperiencing this as i type this word lol)

Also, just because something is missing from your arsenal doesn't mean it needs to be there.

Exact but it wasn't said in that pure aspect , the end of the sentence is why i precise , something missing that you needed several times and don't have

2 dayz a ago i recorded a rapper for exemple , his beat has vari tempo in it , when he epxorted it from Live it didn't had this FX applied (he doesn't lmaster live that much) and asked me if i could do it , this is where a plugin like HAlf speed with automation could have been a faster soultion , i eneded up at asking him the live session and handle it on my own , witch was a waiste of precious time , time , time time !!!! is the only thing you lose for ever !!! if i can make it more availlable with the help of 0 and 1 thks to a piece of paper ?  lol  BINGO !!
