Starise
Nothing like a recorded live performance recorded well and made by a good player such as yourself!

Will
I wanted to have a song to post at the new forum, but I didn't have a new song, so I posted an old one of mine. I've lost a little weight since then, but I'm still plenty ugly.

ZincT
Lovely song, well played. The recording captures it perfectly. Do you play this kind of music live anywhere as you have a real talent for it? Edited January 2, 2019 by ZincT Too much wine

I had St James Infirmary Blues open in one browser window on the old site and this open in another. Got my wires crossed. Nothing to do with this glass of wine I'm drinking at all. ? David Sprouse
This is a great piece to combine with other of tarrega stuff to open a program. This is when nerves can be their highest. Like they say keep it simple..end the program with the hard stuff. You zeroed in on the feeling of the song, your phrasing is excellent.
Will
Yes, start with Tarrega--end with Barrios. It should be a rule!

Kevin Walsh
Really nice playing and sound. Can you describe how you recorded this? Mic, placement, signal chain? Inquiring minds want to know!
Will
I used a pair of Oktava MK 012 mics in a simple X pattern aimed at the neck-body joint. I just went through a cheap Behringer mixer and into my ancient Echo MIA sound card. The reverb was added at the mixer during recording using an old Alesis Microverb. I never use compression on nylon string guitars. They just don't benefit from it. I may have done some EQ'ing. If I did, it wasn't very much. These old Yamaha classical guitars from the 70's just record great no matter what mic you use. I read somewhere that James Burton, despite having tons of guitars, still uses an old 70's Yamaha steel string in the studio because it records so darn well. I can believe it.
