Leadfoot Posted November 6, 2020 Posted November 6, 2020 Most famous as the keyboardist, rhythm guitarist, and songwriter for Uriah Heep during their heyday. Badass on the B-3. Dead at 75 after a short illness. Rest In Peace. 1
Bapu Posted November 6, 2020 Posted November 6, 2020 Back in ~1977-78 I had an opportunity to follow up on an audition to play bass with Uriah Heep. This was when they were no longer "the next big thing". I didn't even want to play the local bar/club circuit. I thought; "why on earth would I want to on tour with a has been band in a stinky bus". Besides, I'd have to learn their songs of which I'd only ever head of one "Easy Livin" or summat like that.
jackson white Posted November 6, 2020 Posted November 6, 2020 Interesting. I ran into their bass player when he was working at IBM in Scotland. Learning their songs would have been simples. Learn one, ya gottem all (jk, kinda, but if you're the least bit familiar with them, ya know...)
RBH Posted November 11, 2020 Posted November 11, 2020 Yea- I thought they were a really great band too. My brother turned me onto them back when. The albums were great for their time. I think I'm lucky in that I'm old enough to have real time witnessed some of the greatest song - smiths in history - 60's 70's and etc etc.
